Lori is found not guilty, then gives the press a statement; the Wilson struggle to reach Carter; Carter tries to get Ben's attention outside the courthouse.
One week later, Taylor and Carter talk about Ben's lack of social media presence, then run into Lori in the school hallway.

Jared and Carter make out in his building's elevator and finCarter and Jared make out in a stopped elevator. When the door opens, they find that a neighbor has been waiting.
While they watch a movie, Max and Taylor make plans to drive up and visit his mom.
At the bar, Carter asks Ben how Olivia is doing and what will happen when she leaves rehab; Jared corners Ben.
Taylor comments on how much money Carter has in her room, then they speculate about Bird's upcoming announcement; Carter informs Elizabeth that she has moved in with Jared.
Carter and Jared check out a prospective new party location at a church; Carter ignores Elizabeth's call.

Carter and Jared argue over their part in Seth's overdose, then Jared insists they get their story straight.
Carter and Taylor try to comfort Bird; Gabe and Damon arrive and ask if they can do anything for Bird; Carter comments on Max's black eye.
Carter confronts Ben about dealing drugs to Seth.
Jared tells Carter they're not responsible for Seth's death, then they are interrupted by the cops knocking on the bar door.
Carter asks Jared if he told the police she knew there were drugs at the party; Jared insists that Ben must have been the one who sold Seth drugs.
Max refuses to let Ben see Bird; Ben denies selling Seth drugs, then tells Max he's not always right.
Bird and Carter sort through pictures of Seth, then Bird tells Carter that Jared sold her and Seth the drugs.
As they drive home, Max asks Carter if she's okay.
Max tells Ben that he misjudged him and he's lucky to have Carter in his life.
S2:EP23 The Sheltering Sky
Elizabeth tells Carter that everyone makes mistakes.
Taylor and Max clean up his apartment.
Max assures Taylor he would be there for her if she got pregnant; Bird and Carter talk about Bird's options.
Max's mother admires his apartment, then he tells her he organized her bills.
Jared assures Carter that giving up Ben is not part of his deal with the District Attorney; David confronts Elizabeth over what's happened while he was on his book tour.

S2:EP24 Atonement
Taylor fills Max in on what happened to Carter and that Jared is dead; Carter asks Crash if she could have killed Jared.
Grant asks Taylor if she knew that Jared was a bad man.
Carter tells Elizabeth that Ben said people like Jared always get what is coming to them; Taylor apologizes to Carter for think so badly of Lori.
David and Elizabeth inform Lori that Ben was released into their custody and that he's coming to stay with them.
Taylor tells Carter her concerns about Max, then Carter figures out that Max is the one that killed Jared.
Elizabeth and David set Ben up in their basement and tell him a security detail will be following them until Rick is caught.
Lori pleads with Max to let her take the blame for Jared's death; Taylor and Carter drag Max off to their car and ask him what happened.
Ben meets with Rick and they end up fighting.
Lori explains to Taylor that she's taking the blame as a parental sacrifice; Lori is released; Rick beats Ben unconscious and leaves him lying in the road; Max turns himself into the police.
